The Ultimate Educational Tool from a
Black Nurse to a Black Mom
About Nurse Angel
Angel Grant BSN, RN has a total of 10+ years within the medical field and previous experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Her specialties spanning across the ten years includes outpatient Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Pediatrics.

Angel's mission is to continuously educate and advocate for Black and minority patients stemming from personal experiences, career environments, and her father's untimely passing due to cultural incompetence and racial profiling. She began her journey as an author when she made the decision to leave bedside nursing during the pandemic, and was personally faced with questions and feelings of neglect for no longer serving her community in the capacity as a bedside nurse.

This book was written for Black women with limited access to a nurse friend, resources, and support. Pregnancy While Black also provides education for the support partners that need to understand how to best advocate for their birthing partners, and for anyone with interest in gaining a better understanding of what it is like to experience Pregnancy While Black.
"Pregnancy While Black, is my contribution to the crisis in which we are seeing in the U.S. with our black maternal mortality rate."
